Round Table Discussions:
Our series of informational seminars on a wide variety of topics that are of particular interest to our members have been an important part of the service we provide. Held an average of three times per year, all events were planned to include professional speakers with expertise in the subject of the program, and all residents of our member buildings have been welcome to attend. Due to public gathering restrictions imposed by Covid 19, we had to suspend the production of these events in February of 2020. As soon as it is safe to do so, we will begin to hold them again. All members will be notified well in advance of upcoming events, and we hope you'll join us then. In the meantime, please visit the " Current Issues and Round Table Summaries" Member Only Section of our website to review the summary information about our past events.
Consultation with Residential Tenancy (RTB)
Consultation round with RTB is complete and their proposed changes have been submitted to government. MLLOA recommended changes have been sent to all member facilities and to the Minister responsible for Life Lease Legislation. If you have not received it or wish to have a copy, click on PDF file link below. For more information please contact Dave Kennedy. firstname.lastname@example.org.
Small Group Consultation with Member Facilities:
Several group consultations have been held. Substantial differences in the corporate, management and cultural environments have been noted among members participating in the consultations. A survey of members is being developed in order to record many of these differences in a clear and understandable format.
Seniors Exemptions re School Taxes:
Action on this issue is now completed. Due to changes introduced by government any further action would not result in any significant benefit for our members.
